Published my short!!

I just realized that I never told you all that I published my short story Blood Lust!!! I had been planning on waiting for a bit, but I was too excited. (So very me lol) So last Friday I did it. Here it is!!

Ronan has lived for hundreds of years. In all of his years there has only been one for him. What will he risk to get back what is his by right? This is a short story and is the prequel to Love and Blood, book 1 in the Blood Ties series due out in January 2013

It's available on Amazon and Smashwords!!
I'm having a joint event on October 25th with author Lola James. We're celebrating the release of both of our short story's. I'm really excited, it's going to be a ton of fun. Hope you all can come:)

A little of this and that

Hello? So I'm still alive, just working a ton on all things book. Whether it's my own, or other people's, I'm working my booty off. The anthology I was supposed to be in next month sort of fell apart. I'm bummed, but it's going to be ok because I now have an awesome short story to release!! I'm hoping to put it out in December. It is a prequel to my Blood Ties series, book one in that one will be out in January some time or Early February. Leave me a comment if you want to see the cover of Blood Lust :)

Revamp

Revamp FOR THREE DAYS, IT WAS DARK. News reporters scrambled. This was the biggest story to come along in weeks. They called it a blackout. The last one was in New York City in 2003, but this one was different, special, because the grids in six major cities across the country had been fried, kaput, see-you-next-Sunday. Everyone with some jurisdiction blamed each other, and when there was no one left to blame, terrorism rode in on its gallant steed. It was the media’s fault. They were so busy stuffing fanatical Muslims with a penchant for Allah and decapitations down the American citizen’s throat, that they never saw it coming. I guess I shouldn’t be too hard on them. They were partially right. It was terror after all, but a whole new kind. And when the lights came back on, things had changed. The dark had brought us visitors. The Next Big Thing

Welcome to THE NEXT BIG THING! This is part of an authors’ blog tour. Each author who is tagged has the privilege of answering 10 questions about their current work-in-progress. I am honored to have been tagged by Olivia Hardin. You can see the link to Olivia’s blog at the end of this post. I’ve tagged one or two authors, who will post their blogs on Oct. 3, 2012. (Their blog links are also at the end of this post.) After reading about MY “Next Big Thing” be sure to check out the other authors to see what their NEXT BIG THING is!

What is the working title of your book?
Chasing the Witch (Boston Witches book 2)
Where did the idea come from for the book?
It's the sequel to Mark of the Witch, so it's a continuation of Jilly, William, and Caroline's stories.
What genre does your book fall under?
Paranormal/Paranormal Romance
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Love, magic, family, trust, nothing else matters when you have that.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Self-published. I thought about going traditional, but I like the idea that my story is going to be told the way I want it to be.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Probably 3-6 months. I went back and forth a lot with it. Normally is takes me 3 months of solid writing to get a book together.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Lol I'm not sure, I've never really tried to compare them. I've heard people say my books remind them of the show Charmed or the movie Practical magic.
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
My husband. He encouraged me to follow my dreams.
What else about your book might pique the readers’ interest?
For those of you who love magic, and an adventure, my Witch series is totally for you

What's been going on this week...

I finished my short, Blood Lust, for the anthology I'm in in November! I sent it off to the editor yesterday!! It feels so good to be done with it. I also came up with a series name for Love and Blood and Blood Lust. It will be the Blood Ties series.

Chasing the Witch is with one of my amazing proof readers, and then it will be off to the editor, hopefully by the beginning of October. So we're still on track for an October release....hopefully.

I've also been doing a ton of work for my Release Day Diva business. Working with some amazing authors :) Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

When the muses sing

I love it when my muse speaks to me, it makes life so much easier for me. I was on a writing rampage last week. I finished my edits on Chasing the Witch, and passed it along to one of my reviewers, hopefully I'll hear good things when she's done!
Love and Blood is coming along nicely, hoping for a February release on that. I did something I never do, I wrote out of order. The ending came to me, so I spent an entire evening writing it. Now I just need to fill in the blanks in the middle.
Still working hard at the other blog, and also planning awesome events for authors. I'm a busy bee :) I posted a teaser for Chasing the Witch on my FB author page :) Go check it out and tell me what you think!!
