The Storms That Fated Us

As Tia Deltoro’s 23rd birthday approaches, she looks forward to meeting up with her old high school friends and hitting the ski slopes. What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend getaway–staying in a beautiful cottage overlooking the mountains–turns out to be a hellish nightmare when Tia unmistakably recognizes the person delivering their firewood.
It has been five years since Tia graduated from New Holston High, yet she remains emotionally shackled to her past, or more specifically ex-best friend Carson Rodriguez, the man holding the bundle of firewood. When he accuses Tia for setting up their chance meeting she fires back running him off. Unfortunately for these two former best friends, Mother Nature decides to show them an intervention they’ll never forget! The drastic shift in weather conditions causes Carson to return and wait out the horrific weather conditions in the confinements of the cottage with Tia.
While the storm rages outside, the two distance themselves to opposite sides of the living room for their own protection. Tia keeps herself distracted by looking at the old high school yearbooks that were packed in preparation for planning the upcoming reunion. Through a series of flashbacks, the memories come flooding back. She can’t help but wonder how things could have gone differently if her ex-boyfriend Evan didn’t always lure her back into his corrupting grasp or Carson’s on-again-off-again girlfriend Erin hadn’t been so conniving.
In the end all of the jealousy, secrets, and lies ultimately severed the ties that held their four year friendship together.
With the strong winds from this blizzard of mass destruction leveling their only means of shelter one window and roof tile at a time, only one question remains–will Tia and Carson be able to put aside their anger towards each other long enough to survive another storm?

Kalliste “Kallie” Reynolds isn’t one of those girls who has it all. She may be in serious danger, and it is up to Landon and his maker Alexandre, to teach her how to survive. Hollywood Angels tour Interview with Karri Thompson

Hollywood Angels Book Blurb:
Karri Thompson6a PREVIEWAshley’s back – and this time, she’s no amateur. She has a new assignment, someone who’s thoughtful, loveable, and caring – someone unlike her last assignment—Cannon Michaels, rock-and-roll bad boy, her celebrity crush, and the boy she loves. But will her next stint on earth will be any easier than the last? Can she forget Cannon and continue her role as a responsible guardian angel?
Someone has followed Ashley back to earth, and this person reminds her of who she used to be – an untrained angel full of sorrow and regret – but this someone is rash and unpredictable, lacking the patience and training needed to watch and wait and keep his assignment from harm. What will Ashley do when she meets this unexpected angel? Can she suppress her human emotions while teaching him how to love and protect his assignment? If he doesn’t cut it as an angel, will he be replaced by another, tearing Ashley away from her true love? Find out when Ashley falls back to earth and lands in a city full of surprises – Hollywood, California.

Interview:
1.    Which of the characters from Hollywood Angels was the most fun to write?

Bradley was definitely the most fun character to write. He is such a smart aleck, but at the same time, he’s endearing. He’s a practical joker and a show off, with the need to be the center of attention. He’s the twin who causes the most grief for his mother. Bradley’s personality is the opposite of mine, so I loved writing about his antics.

2.    How did you get started writing?

I majored in English at San Diego State University. One of the classes I took was called “The Writing of Fiction.” Our first assignment was to write a 15-20 page short story. Ironically, I can’t even remember what my story was about, but the professor called me at home on a Saturday to tell me that he just read my story and loved it. I was so flattered. His praise gave me the confidence I needed to sit down with the determination needed to write my first novel.

3.    What is your favorite genre to read when you have spare time?

Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of spare time, since I am a high-school English teacher. If I’m not planning curriculum or grading, I’m either writing or editing, so it’s rare that I get to read for pleasure, but when I do, it’s usually fantasy or science fiction.

4.    What is something people would be surprised to find out about you?

People would probably be surprised to know that I listen to hard rock. When one of my students asked me what I kind of music I listen to, and I said that one of my favorite bands is Korn, the whole class practically fell out of their seats. They thought I listened to classical or jazz. Boy, were they off. I love Slipnknot, Disturbed, Avenge Sevenfold, Nickelback, and Pearl Jam – just to name a few.

5.    What are you working on next?

I am currently working on the third pass edits for MIRROR X, the first book in THE VAN WINKLE CHRONICLES. MIRROR X takes place 1003 years into the future, so there are a lot of technical details I need to refine and research for accuracy. This book is so compelling, bringing up so many controversial issues, that it can’t have any inconsistencies. My editor just sent me 10 pages of notes to go through when I do this round of edits. I definitely have my work cut out for me, but after this pass, the book will be so much stronger. The release date for MIRROR X is Spring 2014.

6.    What made you decide to self-publish?

My debut novel, AMATEUR ANGEL, was sold to a mid-sized, indie publisher. My agent sold MIRROR X, in a three-book deal, to Entangled Publishing. Since I switched publishers and am so busy with this new trilogy, it just made since for me to publish HOLLYWOOD ANGELS on my own. So many traditionally-published authors have self pubbed on the side, enjoying that fact that they are in complete control over everything – the cover, release date, etc. I wanted to try it, and so far, the experience has been great.

I didn’t just write HOLLYWOOD ANGELS and then publish it. The manuscript went through the same steps as with a traditional publisher. It was edited and copy edited by an outside source, several cover mock-ups were produced, and it’s being marketed by others besides me. I am confident that HOLLYWOOD ANGELS is as polished as it would have been if I had agreed to sign the contract with the publisher of the first book in the series. I am very proud and excited about this book.

I AM Blog Tour Review

This is a powerful book for females that relies on graphics with words to tell important stories succinctly and give vital support and empowerment to females from ages 10 to 100.

My thoughts:

This was a beautifully written collection of poetry that every young girl should read. The poems were all inspiring and uplifting, and I know I will go back to this book when I need a pick me up.
I enjoyed the pictures as well as they really told a story along with the poems. If you have a daughter, or a sister, or a friend, get them this book!

Tattooed Dots Cover Reveal

Easton Crawford put his modeling career and good looks before his marriage until it was over. Years later, he is finally learning how to be the father his daughter needed him to be. He’s not looking for a new mom for his daughter—just nightly casual hook-ups. When his best friend, Avery, convinces him that a good way to meet a lot of single women is to go on a single’s cruise, Easton finds more than just a hook-up when he meets a fellow cruiser, Brooke.

Brooke Bradley has taken care of her younger sister, Bailee, for most of their lives. While their mother was enjoying not being a mother, Brooke became the adult in the household at thirteen. She had always taken care of the people in her life, especially her boyfriend, Jared. If it wasn’t for Brooke, Jared wouldn’t know how to function throughout the day.

When Brooke’s best friend, Nicole, gives her a gift of going on a cruise without telling her that it’s a single’s cruise, will Brooke find someone willing to be her constant and finally leave Jared?

Brooke and Easton learn that people are brought into their lives for many reasons. Over time, they find out what those reasons are. Some are to be a temporary acquaintance while others are there for life.

What will Easton do when he meets Brooke and realizes that she is someone that is meant to be in his life forever, especially after Brooke has an unexpected surgery and Easton is scared of losing her forever?
