Medusa: A love story review

It's said love can change a person. Medusa
wasn't always a monster...

Medusa is ruled by duty, to her Titan father and
the Goddess Athena. She's no room for the
tenderness her warrior guard, Ariston, stirs.
When Olympus frees her from service, her heart
leads her into the arms of the guard she loves...
and curses her as the creature with serpent locks.

Ariston goes to war with a full heart... and
dreadful foreboding. He learns too late of the
danger Medusa faces, alone, and a Persian blade
sends him into the Underworld. But death, curses, nor the wrath of the Gods will
keep him from returning to her.

Poseidon will use Greece's war to get what he wants: Medusa. He does not care
that she belongs to another. He does not care that she will be damned. He is a God,
an Olympian, and she will be his.

My review:

Medusa has always been a bit of a mystery to me, always portrayed as a monster. This story has changed my mind, she is shown as a young woman full of love and compassion. Always pulled in many different directions, she stays loyal to her goddess. Sasha Summer has opened my eyes to an amazing character I never would have met.
This was a really fun read, full of love, loss, and adventure. I grew to love Medusa and Ariston as though they were old friends as I read this book. I've always loved stories with Greek mythology in them, and this one for sure did not disappoint me. If you gte a chance, pick this book up and read it!!

About the author:

Sasha Summers is part gypsy. Her passions have always been storytelling, history,
and travel. It's no surprise that her books visit times past, set in places rich with
legends and myth. Her first play, 'Greek Gods and Goddesses' (original title, right?
), was written for her Girl Scout troupe.

She's been writing ever since. She loves getting lost in the worlds and characters
she creates; even if she frequently forgets to run the dishwasher or wash socks
when she's doing so.

Luckily, her four brilliant children and hero-inspiring hubby are super
understanding and supportive.

Sasha is an active member of RWA and several Texas Chapters. A self-proclaimed
movie-addict, she is full of all sorts of useless movie tidbits and trivia.

Guest post from Sarah and Staci

We are here today to interview Allison Wright, one of the newest members of the Red Ridge Pack. Of course, a non-disclosure has been signed, and this information is strictly confidential and should not be discussed outside of our Pack, the Silver Ridge Pack, and is under no circumstances to be shared with outsiders.
Together the Red Ridge and Silver Ridge Packs have recently been discussing a partnership. As our numbers have been dwindling over the years, it is of utmost importance that we begin to work together to strengthen our Packs, so I want to welcome Allison and thank her for allowing us to interview her today.

Jessica: Thanks for meeting with me today, Allison. I know you and your family are just getting settled in, but we are interviewing important members of the Red Ridge Pack to help introduce you all to our Pack. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Allison: Nice to meet you, Jessica. As you already know, my family and I have just moved in, so to be honest, I don’t know much about the Pack as of yet. We have only met the alpha, Marcus and his wife, Noel and a couple of kids our age.
Jessica: Oh yeah? Did you happen to meet Cade or Kendall?
Allison: Cade wasn’t around, but Kendall sure was. I don’t think she likes me very much. The others were really nice though. Not that Kendall wasn’t… I don’t know, never mind.
Jessica: What do you mean?
Allison: She just seems a bit… you know, what? Can we just change the subject? Kendall was fine. I don’t know why I said anything.
Jessica: Well, tell us about you then. You have a brother about your age, right?
Allison: Yeah, Aiden. He is a year older than me. I’m sure you’ll meet him soon. He is much more outgoing than I am. I think he’s already made fast friends with some of the Pack.
Jessica: So I hear that you both just recently found out that you were Weres. I bet that came as quite a shock.
Allison: Boy is that true. It was definitely a shock, to say the least. My mom left the Pack a long time ago and never told us. I guess once we started exhibiting some changes, she decided it was time to fess us [laughs briefly].
Jessica: Well, I guess so. She couldn’t keep you in the dark forever. How do you feel after all of these changes? It can’t be easy.
Allison: I’m not quite sure how I feel about it all. It’s going to take some time to get used to, but I’m glad we’re here. I think the change would have been much more difficult had we stayed in Houston. It’s just a lot to take in, you know? [smiles]
Jessica: Yes, I suppose it would be. If you don’t mind me asking, have you had your first transformation?
Allison: No, not yet. Is it strange that I’m a bit terrified about the whole thing?
Jessica: Not at all. I think we all felt a bit antsy the first time, and we all knew what we were in for. I can only imagine the surprise when you first learned that you were a Were.
Allison: Surprise? Yes, you could say that. It’s all a little intimidating, I guess.
Jessica: Well, let me assure you, you’re in good hands here. The Red Ridge Pack is one of the oldest, most powerful Packs around. Our Pack is excited that we might be partnered with you all in the near future. I know your grandparents are elders. Will your mother be following in their footsteps?
Allison: I have no idea. She hasn’t said anything.
Jessica: I guess with all that’s transpired as of late, she probably hasn’t even thought about it. Anyway, it was so good to meet you, Allison. I hope to see you again soon and meet your brother. Thanks for taking a time out to talk with me. I will let you get back to unpacking.
Allison: Thanks. It was nice meeting you, too [smiles].
And there you have it - our first interview with Allison Wright, a brand new member of the Red Ridge Pack. Be on the lookout for my interview with her brother, Aiden, in the near future.

Well, thanks, that was really fun!! Hope to do it again soon :)

Blood Jewel by Georgia Cates

With the mystery of Chansey Leclaire and Curry Brennan’s connection solved, they are free to explore their newfound love for one another. Or so they thought...

When Marsala uses a witch and black magic to discover Curry’s whereabouts, he and Chansey are left with no choice. The newly engaged couple is forced to relocate away from their families at the new compound in Savannah, which causes some major changes in the plans for their upcoming wedding.

Relocating to Savannah might have saved Curry and Chansey from being discovered by Marsala, but it doesn’t stop her attempts to reach Curry or her efforts to harm Chansey through the use of black magic. As Marsala closes in, Curry faces the decision he never wanted to make. Will he keep Chansey human or condemn her to eternity as the thing he hates most?

As Curry waits for his hand to be forced, a newly turned vampire arrives at the Savannah compound in need of help. Not only is she a fledgeling in transition, she brings reports of escaping from a vampire cult still in possession of her sister, a human. Any attempt to save the captive human from a cult of vampires puts everyone in jeopardy. Can they risk entering a large cult to save one human being? And is so, how could they possibly do it successfully?

Love will grow. New mysteries will arise. A battle will ensue. A Blood Jewel will be found.

About the Author:

I reside in rural Mississippi with my wonderful husband, Jeff, and our two beautiful daughters.

I spent thirteen years as a labor and delivery nurse before I decided to pursue my dream of becoming an author.

Blood of Anteros, Book One in The Vampire Agápe Series, was my first novel and it was released in September 2011.

I decided to step away from the paranormal genre to try my hand at a young adult romance and I loved it. It was so much fun, I plan to do it again in the near future.

Mysti Parker guest post

Hello my lovelies, we're joined today by author Mysti Parker. She is going to share a really awesome post with all of us. I hope you guys enjoy it!

An Evening with the Cast of Serenya’s Song, #2: Jayden

Setting: The Wasted Witch

Is this seat taken? I’m new in town. Jayden Ravenwing at your service. Could I buy you a

Oh, you have one already. I suppose I’ve lost my touch. I’m not usually one to indulge in
alcohol, but I think tonight calls for something stronger than gingerroot tea. Mmm, now I know
why Barnaby’s Ale is so famous. My partner, Lillyanne raves about The Wasted Witch so often,
I had to see it for myself. It’s my nature to be curious, after all. It’s served me well in my work.

Ah, now you’re curious. Why, I’m just a simple wood-elf and musician, nothing more.
We must be inquisitive, particularly when it comes to music.

Like the singer over there—you’re captivated too, I can tell. As soon as I walked in, her
voice ensnared me. Not to mention her beauty. Raven black hair, blood red lips, skin as ivory as
the piano keys she commands so well.

I know what you’re thinking, but I’m not that man anymore. Not since Caliphany.

See that indentation on my ring finger? I’m surprised there’s even one there. I wore my
wedding band for such a short time. I shouldn’t even be talking about her, but what better place
to share one’s sorrows than a tavern?

Besides, Caliphany’s happy now. Back in Galadin’s arms. The two of them and Mollie—
a family of three, just like they were meant to be.

I know you haven’t a clue of whom I’m speaking. You think I’m angry, but I’m not.
Anger serves no purpose. Neither does self-pity, but here I am, nonetheless, downing my second
mug of ale. And that song—have you heard it before? I swear if I sit here much longer, that dark-
haired angel behind the piano will unearth every secret I have.

In another time, I would have swaggered over there, bowed, and applied my most
charming smile. She would have been in my bed by midnight.

You doubt my prowess? All you have to do is mention my name in Leogard to learn of
all the hearts I’ve left in my wake. Now you’re thinking I’m a shallow cad, and you’re right. I
was, but even as I drifted from one woman’s bed to the next, none of them compared to
Caliphany. Not one. And, as fate would have it, she finally became mine.

What’s that old saying—be careful what you wish for? Have a look at me if you want to
see that idiom in the flesh.

And there’s the final note. Did you get chills, too? I would applaud, but that performance

deserves something more than such a paltry gesture.

Save my seat. I’ll be back shortly.

If you want to see what Jayden has up his sleeve, pick up your copy today at the links below
or leave a comment for your chance to win a Kindle or PDF copy of Serenya’s Song. Winners
will be drawn at the end of the tour (July 9), and ONE winner from all tour stops combined will
receive a signed print copy.
