Unbound by Lola James

Ok, so I just have to say that Lola is amazing, I've read all of her work and I always want more. Today is the release day of Unbound book 2 in the Spellbound series. Lola has kindly given us an excerpt from Unbound.....*squee*

http://www.amazon.com/Unbound-Paranormal-Romance-Spellbound-ebook/dp/B008AX1IJQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1339604144&sr=1-1

Toni went from being a doctor, to the lover of a god in an instant. Remembering who she was, she's now torn between her past self and her current love. Ben is stunned when Toni leaves and at the arrival of his long lost love, Catherine, but her arrival doesn't eradicate Toni from his mind. Unlikely allies will team up to get Toni back from the Lord of the Underworld, Hades, but it's not Hades they need to worry about.

Excerpt:

I picked up a strawberry and ate it as I wondered: Why would Hades want me if he has a wife? The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. I wasn’t in the habit of sleeping with married men. I prepared to go to him, sick with the news that I was no more than a mistress. I turned to walk toward Hades’ office. I stood in the hallway in front of Hades’ office before placing my hand on the door. It was amazing how that the mildew smell had just become natural to me—I didn’t think twice about it anymore. I pushed open the door and walked in.
“I was waiting for you, my sweet,” Hades said the moment he saw me.
The anger I had felt dissipated at the look in his eye. He smiled as I walked slowly over to him behind the black glass desk. I outlined the edge with my finger before I took my place in Hades’ waiting lap.

Sarah M. Ross, author of Awaken, has released her new Young Adult

About the Book:

18 year old Tessa Copeland barely survived the worst year of her life—in fact, it was a miracle. After making it through the tragedy that killed both of her parents, she’s left to pick
up the pieces of her life. Combating the holes in her memory and the concern of her friends was hard enough, but a new talent threatens to destroy everything she’s trying to reclaim.

David Allegri didn’t mean to ruin Tessa’s life. She was the brightest soul he’d seen in centuries and he couldn’t let her die, so the fallen angel used his abilities to heal her—only he took it too far and changed Tessa forever. Now, he has to figure out a way to explain
what’s happening to Tessa and somehow protect both of them from the consequences.

His choice made them targets for the Hunters, who will use any means necessary to capture their prey. Only a desperate plan can help them escape, and sacrifices will be made. Time is ticking. Will they make it, or will they be lost to the echoes of fate?

PRICE:

$2.99 for ebook

$11.99 for Paperbacks. (Autographed copies available at www.sarahmross.com)

About the Author:

I started my obsession with reading at an early age, getting in trouble
for sneaking BabySitter Club and Nancy Drew books into math class in
elementary school. I would read any fiction book I could get my hands
on. I knew it was an addiction when instead of grounding me from TV
or music, my mom would take away my books as punishment (The
Horror!). My love of all things paranormal was inspired by my good
friend Laurie, who convinced me that books with vampires, witches,
and all things shifter were amazing. After a little reluctance, I gave it a
shot with the Sookie Stackhouse books, realized she was right, and the
rest was history. I grew up in Pittsburgh, graduated from The
University of Pittsburgh with my degree in English, and taught 8th
graders to love reading as much as I do for several years. I will always be a proud member
of the Steelers Nation, but I couldn't take the cold and moved my frozen tush to Florida
where I now live with my family and two cats. You will find me now with my trusty Kindle in
hand and toes in the sand! When I'm not writing or reading, I am probably partaking in my
favorite vice: sunbathing. I know it's wrong, but I love the feeling on the hot sun on my
skin and could lay in it for hours. I do live in Florida for a reason!

Getting back to normal

Well, the release has come an gone, I have to say it was a resounding success. I'm so happy with how everything went. Now, I'm slowly getting my life back to normal. I've been writing a ton on a new wip titled Love and Blood (check out a sneak peak here http://thisauthorslife.blogspot.com/p/novels.html) It's very different than Mark of the Witch, and it's been really fun to write so far. I'm also slowly but surely co-writing a book with author Andrea DiGiglio, it's going to be pretty amazing when we finally get it finished. Hope you all have a fantastic day!!

Drasmyr by Matthew D Ryan

In a world of wizards and vampires a
clever man may make a fortune. But
hunting the undead is no small task, as
Coragan the bounty hunter will soon
find out. He will need all his wits and
the help of his comrades to succeed this
time. Together, they must pit themselves
against a creature so old time itself
bends knee, an ancient vampire by the
name of Lucian val Drasmyr. Read
Drasmyr, a dark fantasy novel by
Matthew D. Ryan.

We vampires do not make easy prey.
Our weaknesses are few, our strengths
many. Fear is something we do not
know, and death but a distant memory.
So tread softly, pray to your god, and gird yourself with silver when the moons
arise and night’s dark prince awakens. We fear not the wizard, nor the warrior,
neither rogue, nor priest; our strength is timeless, drawn from darkness and we
know no master save the hot lust of our unending hunger. We long for blood, your
blood and no blade, nor spell, nor clever artifice, can keep us long from our prize.
Feel our teeth at your throat, your life ebb from you, and know as darkness comes
to claim you that the price of your folly is your everlasting soul.

Shae Wynters interview

We are joined tody by author Shae Wynters, she's been kind enough to answer some questions for us!

1. Tell us about Lexia, how did she come about?

Lexia’s story came to me shortly before I started writing A Skinwalker’s Legacy. When I
write, I usually think of a situation and then I think about what type of characters that world
would inhabit and then the story grows from there.

With Lexia, I knew I wanted someone who worked with the police but wasn’t a police officer
herself. She would have special abilities that allowed her to solve cases and especially
introduce the opening conflict that would get the story going. Lexia turned out to be a fun
character. I consider her a mix of Vicki Nelson (from the Blood Books and Blood Ties tv
series by Tanya Huff) and Sara Pezzini of Witchblade fame with the appearance of actress
Kerry Washington.

2. Tell us something people would find surprising about you.

I’m a gamer. I love video games, especially RPGs and I’ve always been into roleplaying
since I was a teen. There’s something about immersing oneself in a story that really gets the
creative juices running, especially when roleplaying a particular character. I gained a few
new story ideas from those instances!

3. Do you have any phobias?

Germs and complete and utter darkness.

4. What is your favorite genre to write?

Probably almost anything speculative. I love creating worlds and rules for them. Seems like
almost anything can happen and it really gets my creativity rolling!

5. Do you have a favorite author?

Oh man, there are so many good ones. It’s tough to choose one! I would probably go with
Anne Rice because her Vampire Chronicles were so influential in my own work.

6. What’s next for you?

I’m currently working on a contemporary romance with this pen name, two continuing series
on my main pen and some novellas including a historical romance and short sci-fi romance.
I have a full plate but time has definitely been testing me lately!

About the Author

Shae Wynters is the pen name of an award winning, best selling author who has been writing for more than twenty years and has been professionally published for eleven years. A bonafide vampire, fantasy, sensual romance and speculative fiction lover, Shae sometimes meshes all these elements together for a rip roaring story to entertain her spectrum of readers.

Mark of the Witch is finally here!!!

Well boys and girls, the day is finally upon us, Mark of the Witch is for sale! So very excited, thank you all for joining me on this crazy ride called writing a book. I hope you all fall in love with Jilly and William as much as I did. A special thanks to Melissa Chase for bringing Jilly to life on my cover. Also a huge thank you To Russ Turner of Russ Turner Photography for capturing my vision. Click the picture to purchase.

Excerpt:

“You may as well come out,” she called. “I know you’re in there.” Both girls scanned the trees for any trace of movement.

Finally, off to their left, a figure emerged from the thick brush. It was a man neither of them recognized. He was short and wiry, with bright red hair and freckles. Jilly thought he was almost too adorable to be afraid of. Almost being the operative word. He came to a stop about six feet in front of them and held up his hands in a gesture of peace.

“I don’t mean you any harm,” he said, reiterating the gesture. “I’m only here to set up a meeting between you and Sabine,” he said as he nodded his head in Jilly’s direction.

“And what if I don’t agree to this meeting? Will you mean us harm then?” she asked as she slowly rubbed her palms together. She felt the familiar reassuring tingle in her fingers.

“Sabine doesn’t want you hurt. She just wants to talk, but if I have to hurt you I will.” He walked a step or two closer. The look on his face was anything but friendly.

“I’d stay where you are if I were you,” Jilly said forcefully. “You really don’t know me.” She rubbed her palms faster. Her palms and fingers were glowing by now.

The man looked at her and shrugged before charging toward her. Jilly put up her hands and grabbed his arm; he went down fast. She kept a hold of his arm until she felt the warmth in her hands start to fade, and yelled for Caroline to make a run for it.
