I'm so excited to have Cait Lavender, one of my favorite new authors on the blog today. She's going to answer some questions for us and give us a peek at her book Hunter Moon.
1. Tell us about Shelby, where did she come from? Is she based on someone you know?
I wish I knew Shelby! She came from my head, from the type of woman I sometimes wish I
could be. She’s tough, badass, capable and sarcastically funny. My mom said when she read
Shelby’s voice, she heard mine in her head, so maybe there’s more of me in her than I think.
2. What was your soundtrack while you wrote Hunter Moon?
Unfortunately, since I stay up late at night writing everyone is asleep so no music for me. But I
have been listening to a lot of Billy Currington. He’s my favorite country singer. He’s got a great
voice, he’s super cute and he’s awesome live in concert!
3. I love Cash, he’s so charming. Ok, that’s not a question lol, but I love him. Tell us a little
bit more about him.
Ah, I think we all love Cash! He’s a old-school gentleman with a dark, animal side. Tall, dark and
handsome, he doesn’t lack interest from the ladies but there’s only one he’s after. The one.
4. What do you read when you aren’t being a brilliant author?
Ha, I wouldn’t say I’m ever brilliant. I try to achieve clever though. I read everything I can get my
hands on. I love reading random freebies from Pixel of Ink and discovering new authors. At the
moment I’m reading Choices by Liz Schulte and I just finished up the last Night Huntress book
by Jeanine Frost and a great western called Gallagher’s Pride by MK McClintock.
5. What’s next for you?
I’m very close to finishing the first book in my new series based in the same world as the Lupine
moon series, but focused more on the darker side of it. I’m looking forward to letting you get
to know some great new characters and catching a little teaser cameo of Shelby before the
second Lupine Moon book is released!
Thanks so much for stopping by today Cait!
Bawling cattle tore Shelby Flint from her bed. With lawyer fees to pay in her struggle to keep her ranch from the clutches of her greedy cousins, she couldn’t afford the loss of even one calf. When she sees a large wolf circling her cows, she aims and fires. While the wolf escapes, Shelby can’t seem to get away from her troubles when a marijuana grower sets up shop on her land, sabotaging her property and eventually coming after her. Adding to that, a handsome game warden is poking his nose into her business and working his way underneath her skin. Shelby will have to fight harder than she ever fought before to keep from losing her heart and everything she ever loved.
About the author:
Cait is a twenty-six year old wife and stay at home mother of one (so far) in Central California. She lives on a cattle ranch in Central California where she and her husband raise papered Black Angus cattle. When she's not chasing her toddler around the house or doing mountains of never-ending laundry she's writing feverishly or reading anything she can get her hands on. Her favorite thing about books is their ability to transport you out of the stress and fatigue of your own life into a more interesting, sexy world.
